Humanities Teacher

Brittney Ellis is a California native whose teaching background focuses on English and Humanities. She has her BA in English and her MA in Humanities with an emphasis in Literature, both from Dominican University of California. As a second generation immigrant, she is a fluent Spanish speaker and uses her experiences with a latina background to diversify her teaching styles and ensure all students feel heard and supported. Her last decade in education centered around supporting individual academic experience and success, and working with students both inside and out of the public school system to maintain grades, interests, organization, and motivation.

Mrs. Ellis is a published author and poet with several entries in regional poetry/short story anthologies and currently has two projects close to release. While writing is one of her biggest passions, she loves being active with her husband, two kids, and loveable dog, which includes playing tennis, snowboarding, hiking, and swimming. When she has time to relax, Mrs. Ellis is an avid reader and, of course, a San Jose Sharks hockey fan. She attends Tahoe Knight Monsters games regularly, and, when watching live NHL games, supports her husband’s team, the Vancouver Canucks, and her favorite NHL player: Thatcher Demko.
