The Admissions Process

We’ve designed our admissions process to be straightforward while allowing us to get to know your family and your student-athlete thoroughly.

Initial Contact

Reach out to our admissions team through phone, email, or our website inquiry form. We’ll schedule an initial conversation to learn about your student’s hockey background, academic profile, and development goals. This informal discussion helps us understand if our program aligns with what you’re looking for.

Campus Visit

We strongly encourage prospective families to visit Tahoe Hockey Academy in person. During your visit, you’ll tour our facilities, meet our coaching staff, observe training sessions, and experience the Lake Tahoe environment firsthand. Your student-athlete will have the opportunity to participate in an on-ice evaluation, allowing our coaches to assess their current skill level and development potential. You’ll also meet with our academic team to discuss the educational experience and how we support student success in the classroom.

Family Meeting

Following your campus visit, we’ll sit down together for an in-depth conversation about your student’s needs, your family’s expectations, and how Tahoe Hockey Academy can support your goals. We take our time during these meetings because we want to ensure that every question is answered and that you have a complete understanding of what the Tahoe Hockey Academy experience entails. This is also an opportunity for us to learn about your student beyond their hockey resume—their personality, learning style, interests, and what motivates them.

Application & Evaluation

If we mutually determine that Tahoe Hockey Academy is a strong fit, we’ll guide you through the formal application process. This includes submitting academic transcripts, hockey references, and completing our student-athlete questionnaire. Our coaching staff will review game film and connect with your current coaches to gain additional perspective on your student’s playing style and character.
