Academics
Our goal is to prepare our student-athletes for the challenges of college life, and life beyond through support and a curriculum that includes core, and advanced honors courses.
Education requires a curriculum that includes learning experiences, and problem solving that allows critical thinking. Learning does not end within the classroom as our teachers, coaches, and support staff work together to provide overall growth in academics, athletics and a student’s personal development.
When you join Tahoe Hockey Academy, you’re not just joining a hockey program. You’re joining a community committed to your success in every aspect of life. Our graduates leave prepared not only for college hockey, but for university academics and meaningful careers beyond the rink.
We understand that while our students’ passion is hockey, their future success depends on a strong educational foundation. Whether they play professional hockey, pursue careers in business, medicine, education, or any other field, our graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and character to thrive.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
When should we start the admissions process?
We recommend beginning conversations at least six to twelve months before your desired enrollment date. This allows time for campus visits, evaluations, and thoughtful decision-making. However, we understand that hockey decisions sometimes happen quickly, and we’re prepared to work with families on compressed timelines when necessary.
Can students enroll mid-season?
In some circumstances, we can accommodate mid-season enrollment. Contact our admissions team to discuss your specific situation and availability.
What is the academic curriculum?
Tahoe Hockey Academy partners with Lake Tahoe Preparatory School to ensure that our student-athletes receive a rigorous, college-preparatory education. We can discuss our academic program in detail during your campus visit.
How does the boarding experience work?
Our student-athletes live in supervised housing with dedicated residential staff. We create a structured, supportive environment that balances training, academics, and personal time. During your visit, we’ll show you the residential facilities and explain our approach to student life.
