OUR ACADEMICS
Building confidence through learning.
Tahoe Hockey Academy offers our students unique learning opportunities that fit their individual academic needs. By implementing a small teacher to student ratio, our faculty is able to develop positive connections that encourage students to challenge themselves to strive higher.
This builds an environment that promotes confidence, fosters academic curiosity, and instills a thirst for learning and knowledge.
The Tahoe Hockey Academy curriculum fosters critical thinking, peer collaboration, and enhanced communication skills throughout traditional subject areas. We also encourage our student-athletes the opportunity to express themselves in the form of electives, and social activity.
Our curriculum is designed to prepare student-athletes for the challenges of college life and beyond. We provide a supportive learning approach for each individual that allows for taking of core, honors, and AP classes.
Similar to our approach to hockey development, we do not subscribe to the notion of “one size fits all” when it comes to academics. Instead we embrace the different backgrounds and perspectives of our students, and create partnerships in achieving their academic goals.
Our approach
Delivering academic support
Small Student to Teacher Ratio
We believe in building relationship that foster trust and communication to better understand each student and their academic needs.
Daily Progress and Study Hours
We monitor grades on a daily basis so that we can target specific areas of improvement before students begin to fall behind. We also set aside hours each day for dedicated study time.
Tutor Support
Our faculty members are available for in-person, or virtual consultations to offer student support in each specific academic subject.
