The Tahoe Hockey Academy is a place where the student-athlete is encouraged to develop and cultivate their character. Our program is made for the most dedicated student-athlete’s and provide the best environment to be challenged and learn as they expand their views of the world and champion the core attributes that define true leadership. The result? Student-athletes that compete with world-class athletes and have gained the necessary education to attend the countries most premier educational institutions, along with the leadership that will be needed for our next generation of influential leaders.
|7:00 am – 7:30 am||Team Breakfast||A recommended balanced breakfast is mandatory for all Student-athletes. Breakfast is served daily in the dining room|
|8:45 am – 10:15 am||Team Practice||All student-athletes participate in on-ice practice/training, focusing on skill development, team tactics and individual tactics, through a rigorous two hour training practice session.|
|11:00 am – 12:30 am||Academic Class||All student-athletes must use this time for academic purposes. While online courses offer flexibility, they also require self-motivation and time management skills. Most students can expect to spend 4-5 hours per day on their coursework. We encourage students to review and/or submit work five times a week when not at major tournaments.
|12:40 pm – 1:10 pm||Team Lunch||A nutritious lunch is prepared daily. Student-athletes are expected to attend lunch in the school lunch room or Tahoe Prep Academy dining room.
|1:15 pm – 4:45 pm||Academic Classes||All student-athletes must use this time for academic purposes. While online courses offer flexibility, they also require self-motivation and time management skills. Most students can expect to spend 4-5 hours per day on their coursework. We encourage students to review and/or submit work five times a week when not at major competitions.|
|5:00 pm – 6:00 pm||Dryland Training||All student-athletes participate in off ice practice/training program supervised by our Strength & Conditioning coach. Team sessions including video analysis for both individuals and teams are presented regularly. Plyometric Training (Duration 30 minutes) and Weight Training|
|6:30 pm – 7:00 pm||Team Dinner||Dinner includes at least 2 choices for the entree, garden or Caesar salad, hot vegetables, and other side, prepared fresh and daily by our chef.|
|7:00 pm – 9:00 pm||Entertainment Program||All qualified student-athletes may participate in various off-campus activities such as going to movies, in town, dining out, skiing & snowboarding and other activities in Lake Tahoe.|
|9:00 pm – 10:30 pm||Free Time||Though some student-athletes study past 8:00, this is officially free time for the students to socialize, watch their favorite tv show, connect with home and friends as well as relax. Also, this time is a time where players can have time to work on there goal setting areas, via shooting/puck handling range, and receive support on personal challenge areas.|
