Tahoe Prep Academy has partnered with Lake Tahoe Unified School District to provide our players with the most flexible and advanced education in the country. Our students will have the luxury of two different academic educational options at Tahoe Prep Academy. Students will have the option of attending conventional classes at the South Tahoe High School in addition to the option of “online classes” which will be offered in our “blended learning” environment.
South Tahoe High School complete renovation was completed in 2013 which now features an amazing academic campus to rival any D1 NCAA college in the country. STHS features block scheduling which allows our Tahoe Prep Academy the versatility required to enable these student-athletes the ability to reach their full athletic potential while maintaining our academic standards as well.
All Tahoe Prep Academy Student classes will be located at STHS. Students enrolled in our “block scheduling” will attend their selected courses at STHS, which our online students will work on their online classes in our designated
Tahoe Prep Academy classrooms located at South Tahoe High School. Our designated classrooms will have a certified teacher in the classroom to assist with any academic questions which they may have. This will enable all Tahoe Prep Academy students to be at STHS at the same time as well as have social interaction with the other 1100 students at STHS.
Academics are a key to any student-athlete’s path if they wish to attend an NCAA institution. All Tahoe Prep Academy students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain active status on our roster as we hold our student-athletes to a very high standard.
Our Tahoe Prep Academy staff works diligently to oversee the player’s academic progress on a weekly basis. Acquiring college-prep learning skills and habits are of the utmost importance at THA. All players are required to participate in mandatory study halls during travel and road games throughout the season, which makes academics and time management out top priority.
